In this research, the researcher conducted a classroom action research from Feb 27 th to April 30 th 2008 at the fourth grade of SDN Makamhaji 01 Kartasura. Besides, the oral test was done to know the students’ improvement in pronunciation before and after the technique was implemented. The observation was used to gather information dealing with the students’ progress during the teaching and learning process.

The techniques the researcher used to collect the data were observation and test. The objectives of the study are to find out whether songs improve students’ pronunciation and how songs are used effectively in improving the pronunciation of the fourth grade students of SDN Makamhaji 01 Kartasura.
